The Vision of Open Bible Fellowship is to build a growing, multi-ethnic, cell-based church that is passionately in love with Jesus and others. To multiply a new generation of disciples, cells, and Open Bible Churches to carry the ministry of this mother church to the greater Tulsa area and into the world. To obey the Great Commission by local outreach and by planting Open Bible Churches in America, those nations the Holy Spirit is visiting, and the 10/40 window.
Pastor Joel Budd ministers the Word of God in a practical and life changing way. He uses his teaching gift to impart biblical truths regarding the roles, rights and responsibilities of living as a Christian in today's world. With an authentic and sincere heart and a transparent revelation of personal experiences, Pastor Joel will encourage exhort and challenge you to live a life worthy of the call of Christ. Pastor Linda Budd ministers through sound biblical teaching and a strong healing anointing. Pastor Linda will stir your faith as she ministers with the supernatural power of Jesus to heal your spirit, soul and body. Come expecting to experience the power and presence of the Almighty.
Open Bible Fellowship is an independent presence-based church located at 71st & Riverside (1439 East 71st St.) in Tulsa next to the Quik Trip. OBF’s purpose statement is "Passion for Jesus, Compassion for the Lost, Devotion to One Another” and our mission is to build a church that is committed to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. Some History Open Bible Fellowship actually launched in late 1983 with about 40 people meeting in homes & a movie theatre on Sunday morning. It grew steadily & significantly for the first ten years. It was a seeker sensitive, seeker friendly model that had a broad appeal to believers of all kinds. In 1994 that suddenly changed. On the Sunday after Thanksgiving, the spirit of God suddenly broke out in a very surprising & powerful way. In every service after that the Holy Spirit kept breaking out. We had to make a decision at that point whether to stay with our seeker-sensitive model or let the Holy Spirit keep coming & follow God into new territory. At that point, we made the decision to stop the non-charismatic, seeker sensitive model and switch to what we now call a presence-based church. In this model, we are less concerned about what people think of the service & more concerned about making a place where the presence of God regularly comes & the Holy Spirit can do what He wants to do. We have discovered that one moment in His presence changes everything. Since that time we have continued to offer some of the ministries that most churches offer (children’s ministry; youth ministry; bible studies; etc.) but we have added a Firestorm School of Ministry where believers can learn to do the stuff that Jesus said we can do: heal the sick, cast out demons, x-treme prophetic, interpret God-dreams, get deliverance, etc. Living in God’s presence & anointing in our lives is a high value to OBF & we want people to know how to accommodate that & grow in personal & corporate anointing.
