Fellowship Bible Church - A Brief History Fellowship Bible Church was organized in July of 1976. The church began with three families and meetings were held in homes. In 1978 the small church called its first pastor, Bruce Ewing. Moving down from Newton, Kansas where Bruce was serving as an associate pastor, Bruce and Linda came to help build a biblically based yet culturally relevant church. In that same year, great things began to happen. The church began holding services at the Thornton Y.M.C.A. located on 51st Street and property was purchased here at our current location on 91st Street. The church continued to grow through the 80's. In 1982 Phase I of our current facility was completed. The worship service was held in "the box," the north half of the activity center, and the learning center met in our present staff offices. In 1985 the body called its second full-time pastoral staff member. To accommodate the growing body, a second service was begun. In the Fall of 1986, Phase II, our worship center, was completed. Staff additions and changes continued through the late 80's and early 90's as the Body continued to grow. In the mid-90's the church began experiencing rapid growth. In the Fall of 1994, Phase III of our building, gym expansion and educational space, was completed. In 1995 the church purchased 3 acres to our west and in January of 1997 we acquired the 8 acres to our East. In March of 1998, the FBC leadership introduced the "Master's Plan" which includes a comprehensive plan to "build out" the remaining acreage to alleviate current overcrowded worship services and provide for ![]() God has blessed the Body in many ways since the days at the Y.M.C.A. Since those days we have seen our Mini Churches grow from 4 to 18. Our elder team has increased so that we now have six elders. Currently, we have seven full-time ministry staff members and eleven support staff individuals. Numerous members of the Body today are people who established a personal relationship with Christ as a result of God's work through FBC. Today, we stand as a church family committed to fulfilling God's purpose of building up the Body and helping others make a personal commitment to Christ. Our desire continues to be that FBC will continue to have a vital relationship with God, with members of the Body, and those yet to become Believers. Our hope is that you will become part of our future as we seek
