Tell us about your history: Pastor Reza Safa founded Fishermen's House Church in July 1998. It has now grown to about 120 members. Jesus said in Matthew 4:19, "Come follow me, and I will make you fishers of men." Fishermen's House Church is consecrated as: THE HOUSE OF GOD, A HOUSE OF PRAYER, A HOUSE OF SALVATION, A HOUSE OF HEALING, A HOUSE OF RESTORATION, A HOUSE OF WORLD MISSION & EVANGELISM. Fishermen's House Church is concerned with souls' making sure people have the opportunity to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The church supports several missionaries around the world, through finances and prayer. Many of the members participate in worldwide missions.

Give us a litte known fact to someone who has not attended before: In May 2003, Pastor Reza began broadcasting evangelistic programs through satellite into his home country, Iran, and other Farsi-speaking countries. Through these broadcasts, thousands of Iranians have come to know the Lord, turning from Islam. Shortly after starting these broadcasts, Pastor Reza had a vision of a 24-hour Christian TV station in the Farsi language. This satellite station would be called 'Nejat TV.' (Nejat is the Farsi word for salvation.)

The members of Fishermen's House Church strongly support these efforts through finances and prayer. This 24-hour station became a reality in the spring of 2006 after Dr. Paul Crouch from Trinity Broadcasting Network in California heard about the tremendous results of Nejat TV and decided to partner with Pastor Reza. TBN Nejat TV began in the spring of 2006, and the fulltime satellite station began with 24 hours of daily Christian broadcasting in the Farsi language in September 2006.

Many thousands of Muslims in Iran and other countries around the world have found salvation in Christ through the Nejat TV programs. We have also received many testimonies of miraculous healings as the Nejat TV phone counselors pray on the phone with those who have called the church office, and many have been delivered from drug addictions. The ministry of Nejat TV is also focusing on discipleship for the new believers in Iran. The Iranian government does not allow Muslims to convert to Christianity or conduct any kind of church service, and Bibles are not allowed into the country. The most effective way to disciple these new believers is through Christian programs on satellite. Several broadcasters, including Benny Hinn, Rod Parsley, Paula White, Jentezen Franklin, Mark Chironna, and Dr. Paul Crouch, have started airing their programs to help the discipleship efforts. Another way to disciple the new believers in Iran is through a Bible school in Turkey. The Nejat TV ministry has paid the travel expenses for students from Iran to travel to Turkey, and seven of these week to month long training sessions have been conducted, with the help of other mature teachers, such as Dr. Patricia Bailey, Alphonso Belin, and Pastor Joe Edmonson. Several members of Fishermen's House Church have traveled to Turkey and helped minister in the Bible schools.

What else would you like us to know? The Fishermen's House Church family is very multicultural. Pastor Reza Safa was born and raised in Iran, so his first language is Farsi, but he ministers in English on Sunday mornings to a diverse group of people from different parts of the U.S., as well as other countries. Fishermen's House Church is comprised of people from many different backgrounds, including Caucasians, African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics, Africans, Brazilians, Indians, Jamaicans, and Trinidadians. These differences only make a beautiful harmony, and everyone works together and volunteers their services in the different ministries of Fishermen's House Church.
